NPI announces that John Burton has become a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)

South Burlington, VT – February 25, 2008

NPI announces that John is now a Certified Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). The MCP for Licensing Solutions exam focuses on all aspects of the Microsoft Licensing offering including volume licensing, a critical component of the sales cycle. This certification will increase the licensing expertise NPI delivers to its clients and help move NPI toward its Microsoft Software Asset Management (SAM) specialization.
NPI is working toward achieving the Microsoft Software Asset Management (SAM) specialization to help our clients manage their software licensing issues due to governance and corporate compliance requirements. SAM helps businesses stay on top of the various software licensing issues including security problems stemming from a lack of patches or updates. SAM also uses software reconciliation to show unused software that is still being maintained and software that can be used elsewhere along with its associated licenses. SAM gives businesses a better understanding of how many and what types of licenses are needed. SAM can help answer important business questions like; "Should a business buy on a per-person, per-PC basis, or look into volume licensing?" A SAM plan will tell exactly what is needed and can save money when it comes to purchasing licenses.
